Kevin Kates
Captain

Capt Kevin has been around the water his entire life growing up in south Florida and being a avid fisherman and diver.  Kevin became a professional fisherman fishing tournaments around Florida and the Bahamas.  His success led to major sponsorships from boat, tackle and even clothing and sunglass companies. Kevin was the Bahamas Field Editor for Florida Sportfishing Magazine for 4 years which let him travel extensively the entire Bahamas.  He also has been featured on several TV shows including his own show locally in South Florida.  Kevin's love for the water led to the natural progression of obtaining his captains license and running boats from as small as a tender to 130 feet.  He has been guiding clients throughout the Bahamas, east coast of the US and Caribbean for many years and enjoys showing his guests the best the area has to offer to have a trip of a lifetime.


Charles Gladden
Engineer / Mate

Charles grew up fishing, surfing and sailing the coastal waters of North Carolina. After graduating from high school Charles joined the US Army, and shortly after in 2003, married childhood friend and girl- next-door, Shannon. Charles and Shannon have been married for eleven years, and currently reside in South Florida with their two children Taylor and Noah. After leaving the Army in 2006, Charles went back to the beach he loved to pursue a career on the water. He has worked on numerous sailing vessels, fishing vessels, and yachts since that time, in many capacities including captain, mate, and engineer. 


Amy Grubb
Chief Stewardess

Amy was Born in Norman, Oklahoma. She and her family moved to Pendleton, Indiana. Where she grew up and began developing her athletic abilities such as: softball, (attempted) basketball, volleyball, running, dance classes, drama, playing the piano and twirling the baton…(not one of her favorites). Born with natural artistic abilities her future was focused on a carrier in Art. She obtained her BFA from Herron School of Art-Indiana University and furthered her education and obtained her MFA in Graphic Design from Florida Atlantic University, which included a special honors invitation from the Royal College of Art in London where she conducted her thesis research.

She is a 15-year resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she owned and operated a Decorative Art Installation Company for 6 years. Her target audience was: yacht owners, residential and commercial properties, which was her introduction into the Yachting Industry. Growing up in the Midwest, could not capture the passion and connection she had for sea life and the water.

As a professional artist, a successful businesswoman, she has taken on the titles such as: Head Trainer, Art Director, Entrepreneur, Program Support Coordinator and Chief Stewardess. Amy integrated her love for art, her established business sense and polished hospitality skills as her building blocks to excel and be accomplished in the yachting industry as a Chief Stewardess (ranging from 100ft.-170ft Vessels).

During her off time she enjoys: Sketching, Painting, Making Jewelry, Sculpting and Writing. The Athletic side involves: Running, Cycling, Trekking, and Light weights and sometimes sitting around watching mindless TV.


Frank Haiko
Fishing Specialist

Capt. Frank Haiko was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale/Pompano area of Broward County, FL and currently resides in Sebastian, Indian River County, FL since sept.06. His birthday is Dec. 20 1972 and is 41 years old. While growing up in south FL he became a fisherman and started working on boats as a deckhand/mate at the age of 14 at the local charter fleet. As his skills progressed he became a full time mate at the age of 17 and stayed working at the Hillsboro Inlet charter docks on numerous boats. Frank's first trip to the Bahamas was at the age of 15 where he fell in love with the crystal clear waters and better fishing and free diving of the islands.

At the age of 19 frank went into the army and served 4 years as a field medic. When he was discharged at the age of 24, Frank went back to fishing full time and worked on numerous center console and sportfish boats that fished between Florida and the Bahamas. At the age of 26 Frank got his 100T Captain’s license and took a job running a privately owned 60'Hatteras "Ventura" in Miami. At the same time he started tournament fishing local Florida tournaments in his time off. He fished with numerous successful teams on center console boats over the next 3 years and was in the winner’s circle regularly. He was also doing trips all over the Bahamas on the "Ventura" at the same time. At the age of 30 Frank took a full time position on a 40'Cabo the "Uno Mas" and started fishing tournaments in the Bahamas. He was very successful and had numerous 1st 2nd 3rd or daily wins while on the "Uno Mas". At the age of 33 Frank went to the Broward Fire Academy and EMT school simultaneously. Upon completion of Fire and EMT school, Frank enrolled in an accelerated Paramedic school and completed that in approximately 9 months as he had already had medical training in the Army. After he received his paramedic license he was hired by Osceola County Fire Rescue at the age of 34 and is currently employed there. Frank works on a select few boats on his time off from the fire dept. and still has a passion for fishing especially for Blue Marlin and enjoys his time on the water and his time on charters.

 

Mike Nichols
Chef

Chef Mike Nichols, originally from Houston Texas, has cooked professionally for 20 years. He attended the Disney Culinary Academy in 1995, finishing his third year at Disneyland Paris.  He is well versed in a variety of cuisine’s which include Italian, French, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, TexMex and American fusion. He specializes in Desserts as well. Mike is happy to work with any dietetic restrictions and allergies. In the last ten years he has been cooking on private yachts preparing meals for the elite, along with keeping crews up to 15 happy as well. His energetic personality is a pleasure to be around and paired with his passion for food makes him "One of Kind". Chef Mike is a Certified Culinarian with the American Culinary Federation (ACF) and a Member of the United States Personal Chef Association (USPCA).
